Fortnite is almost constantly adding new content for players to discover, from gameplay mechanics to LTMs, POIs, and more. This is especially true when it comes to in-game items, one of which was recently added: Feathers.

Epic Games' popular free-to-play battle royale title is in its first season of the new Chapter 3, which introduces a new island along with an ever-growing list of new items. Fortnite has just released the v19.20 update, which adds the new Feathers item among several other major pieces of new content.

How to get feathers in Fortnite

Fortnite has added Feathers to the game as its latest item, but some players may be confused as to where to find them, let alone what they're used for. Feathers are used to unlock a wide variety of skins for Haven, one of this season's Battle Pass skins that was locked until the most recent update. Feathers can be found in chests anywhere on the island, meaning players will naturally accumulate them as they play more matches. Fortnite Haven Feathers act as currency for Haven skins, but each skin has a secondary requirement that players need to be aware of.

How to get Haven Fortnite skins

In order for Fortnite players to acquire Haven skins, they will not only need a sufficient number of feathers, but they will also need to complete a quest related to the specific type of skin. For example, catching fish unlocks cat skins, foraging for food unlocks deer skins, gliding unlocks owl skins, and more.

There are dozens of skins to unlock, but most of the skin quests are relatively simple, meaning players won't necessarily have to spend hours polishing. The Haven's Masks system shares some similarities to the previous season's Battle Pass with Toona Fish.

In addition to feathers, Fortnite's 19.20 update adds a revamped Heavy Shotgun and the new Covert Cavern point of interest, where a Mythic Stinger SMG resides. However, this week's new content doesn't stop there.

The Fortnite Crew Pack for February was recently revealed, which features a raving skeleton named Aftermath. Sporting a chromatic outfit and a golden disco ball-shaped skull, the character comes in multiple styles: a more covert style with a mask and hood, and one that fully displays his glowing skull. The accompanying reactive Flatline Back Bling should be popular, functioning as a decibel meter when the wearer gets excited.

While there's unfortunately no major shortcut to unlocking all Haven skins, skilled players should have little trouble unlocking the ones that appeal to them. Harvesting feathers may be trickier in the future, however, as a new leak suggests a massive tank vehicle is coming.
